PROSTHETIC REHABILITATION OF A PATIENT WITH MICROTIA: A CASE REPORT

Maxillofacial prosthodontics gains utmost significance as the process not only tries to develop acceptable esthetics but also tries to enhance the psychological comfort of the patient by restoring the defective or missing craniofacial structures. Auricular defects resulting from skin cancer, trauma or congenital cause present reconstructive challenges. This case report describes a simple clinical technique to rehabilitate patient with microtia and to restore the facial structure to patient’s satisfaction in a manner that was both cosmetically elegant and cost effective.
