Abstract
PERIODONTAL HEALTH IN YOUNG WOMEN WITH ANOREXIA NERVOSA

We evaluated the periodontal health status of 20 young women with anorexia nervosa (AN) and the relationship between XX absorption (X-ray absorption) and x-ray radiographic X-rays (BMD). Twenty young women, 18.8 years, have undergone DXA measurements and a complete dental examination, including dental and panoramic radiographs. The mandible cortical width (MCW) was evaluated in the mental forearm region. The oral greeting was good and excellent in the state of oral hygiene. Gastric retraction was evident in 10 participants (50%). Dental erosion was not detected and DMFT was 9.6. There was a weak positive correlation between BMD through DXA and MCW on radiographs. We understand dental manifestations associated with AN and the association of bone evaluations using DXA and dental radiographs in this group of patients. Despite subnormal DXA measurements in most patients, in practice, all teenagers had normal periodontal periodontitis.
