Abstract

Pain is thought to be the most dominant complaint by patients with fracture and who underwent external fixation. Participants of 60 patients were randomised to experimental and control group. Pretest done to assess physiological parameters and Activities of daily living. (ADL) Aromatherapy administered (with 2 drops of lavender essential oil instilled on tissue paper) by inhalation method from 2nd postoperative day to 5th postoperative day. Pain level was assessed every day before and after aromatherapy. Post-test was done on 5th postoperative day. Aromatherapy decreased the level of pain among patients with external fixators which is significant at the level of p <0.000.
