Abstract

Cerebrovascular accident (CVA) is a global health problem which has its major impact on the quality of life of the patients. The aim of this study is to explore and extrapolate the lived-in-experiences of the patients recovered from cerebrovascular accident. Through purposive sampling technique 15 patients were selected. The purpose of the study was explained, informed consent was obtained and interview was conducted on one-to-one basis to gather information from the patients. The gathered information was segregated into themes and subthemes. This revealed that each patient’s experiences were unique and majority of the patients had problem in the psychological aspect. Based on the study findings, a Self Care Module was prepared for the patients.
