Abstract

Herpes simplex virus (HSV) is a very common viral infection that has been reported to be present in the trigeminal ganglion of nearly 100% of patients greater than age 60 at autopsy. In regards to ocular disease, HSV-1 and HSV-2 may cause blepharoconjuctivitis, epithelial keratitis, stromal keratitis, iridocyclitis, or retinal infection. This Eye Wiki will focus on corneal manifestations of the Herpes simplex virus. This review concluded A well-balanced diet has to be ingested and protective glasses must be worn while working or playing in risky conditions. Goggles or sunglasses having ultraviolet coatings can assist in protecting against damage from ultraviolet light
