Virtual reality is a simulation environment generated by computer, and virtual reality technology is a kind of computer simulation system which can be used to create and experience the virtual world. This system simulation is of threedimensional dynamic vision and entity behavior. It brings super-reality user experience when users are immersed in the environment. In recent years, research institutions have maintained highly enthusiastic with this technology and developed all kinds of products for people’s daily convenience. Virtual reality technology is a new peripheral technology involving many fields. In the form of knowledge mapping, this paper reviewed the developing situation of this technology in the past ten years regarding its amount of published papers, research institutions, subject distribution, authors, and research hot spots and envisioned its development trend.
