Abstract

Cluster of differentiation antigen 14 (CD14) plays an important regulating role in the inflammatory response and immune responses. In this study, real-time fluorescent quantitative PCR was used todetect the transcription level of CD14 in E. coli F18-resistant and -sensitive Sutai piglets and western blotting was used to detect the related translation level. The results showed that the transcription level of CD14 gene in jejunum of resistant individuals was significantly higher than sensitive individuals (P <0.01),and the translation level was consistent with mRNA expression level. The results illustrated that the upregulation of CD14 gene expression might be related to the resistance of E. coli F18.
