Abstract

Ideas makes civilization. Each civilization has its own signature style in art, literature, culture and architecture is no exception. We live in a modern world where buildings grow in number as well as reach the sky. When the number of buildings increases, and if there is a need to build another building among those metal pillar buildings even skyscrapers, it will become as almost impossible construction. In normal method of construction, for the need of lifting heavy loads and to place it on the building, we use cranes. These cranes occupy more area, since the jib of cranes have rotating mechanism over the crane pillar using gears and ball bearings. Our main aim is to eliminate this rotating mechanism for saving more space of work, the counterweight elimination, and to ensure safety. Thus, an attempt has been made to investigate better solutions for the difficulties presently prevailing in construction cranes and to do the necessary work in swifter and elegant way. We have analyzed a tower crane, which is instrumental in building construction, and many modifications are done. Nine the less it is not immune to limitations due to our ever changing needs. We propose a modified design which we claim overcomes the limitations of the present model of tower crane.
