Abstract
AUTOMATIC GATE OPENING SYSTEM USING PARALLELOGRAM MECHANISM

The main aim of our project is to design a automatically operating gate without using electricity. In present days Gate systems a high amount of electric power supply is needed to open a gate automatically. To tackle this issue and minimize the power usage a gate which was designed by using the concept of parallelogram mechanism that can be operated without electricity. The gate model which consists of geometry of foldable parallelogram with a link which connects the base with the ground, and a pulley mechanism with a sprocket chain is used to make the gate to have a smooth landing. Whenever the vehicle passes the marked area it automatically lifts the gate in upward direction, after passing the gate will automatically come to its original position by using the self-weight and an additional load is given to control the speed of the gate while closing. This helps the vehicle to pass without any damage. An extra arrangement can also be to make to produce electric power supply by using a low rpm generator by coupling it with the sprocket used.
