Abstract

Appendix is commonly encountered surgical entity. In our study of 60 patients from histopathological examination of appendix and other diagnosis during surgery, the clinical diagnostic accuracy overall was 87.8%, in male 91.1 % (31 out of 34) in female 84.6 % (22 out of 26 patients), in the active reproductive age group the negative rate was 17.64%. 15 out of 53 acute appendicitis patients had elevated total count, this accounts for 28.1 %.25 out of 89 acute appendicitis patients had elevated total count, this accounts for 28.3 %.The overall diagnostic accuracy was 87.8%, the diagnostic accuracy in male 91.1.% (31 out of 34), in female 84.6% (22 out of 26)
