Abstract

The integrity of the cement lute and its reaction to occlusal load is of prime concern for the success of the fixed partial denture during functional and parafunctional activity. In relation to parameters of tooth preparation such as taper, optimal planning will result in a desirable tension distribution that contributes to the performance of fixed partial dentures. One of the most efficient, reliable and widely accepted methods for studying the pattern of stress distribution in dentistry is finite element analysis. With this context, the current study was conducted to determine the distribution of stress in cement luted premolar tooth crown for different degrees of taper preparation
