KINGFISHER PARK, CORON, PALAWAN, PHILIPPINES</JournalTitle>
Mt. Kingfisher Park, Coron, Palawan is a home of biodiversed flora and fauna. Unlike the animal species, floral
diversity in the area has not been recorded. This study assessed for the first time the flowering plants at Mt. Kingfisher Park.
Flowering plants were randomly collected in all vegetation types. Voucher specimens were provided for each species and
identified using taxonomic methods. The 33 species collected are distributed in 31 genera and 16 families dominated by
Rubiaceae. Endemic, endangered and vulnerable including possible new species and varieties were identified. A total of 19
species with medicinal values were recorded. This study was able to assess the status of flowering plants at Mt. Kingfisher
Park in terms of species richness and diversity as well as species possibly new to science.
<Email>gerardqdeguzman@yahoo.com</Email><articletype>Research</articletype><volume>4</volume><issue>8</issue><year>2014</year><keyword>Mt.
