Puberty is a period in the growth and
development of the child that encompasses the initiation and progression of sexual and physical maturation. The study aimed
to assess the effectiveness of teaching programme of menstrual hygiene on knowledge, attitude and practice among the
adolescent girls in government school in Chennai, Tamilnadu. 500 samples were selected, one group pretest, posttest design
which is pre-experimental in nature is adopted for conducting the study. In this study, the investigator administered pretest
for the selected adolescents girls and she manipulated the independent variables i.e. planned teaching programme on
menstrual hygiene which was administered to the same group of adolescents girls. Then the post test was conducted. The
results revealed significant positive correlation between the level of knowledge, attitude and practice of the menstrual
