<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><Articles><Article><id>178</id><JournalTitle>ASSESSMENT OF VARNAPRASADANA DRAVYA MANJISTHA AND MADHU IN TVAKVAIVARNYA</JournalTitle><Abstract>The present study has been undertaken to unfold the hidden facts about the concept of Varna, to apply this concept
in practical field and to assess the efficacy of Manjistha (Varnaprasadana drug) and Madhu(Honey) in Tvakvaivarnya.
Patients from OPD of Shalya, Dept. of Shri Ayurved College,Nagpur were selected. The patients were given Manjistha and
madhu lepa for 28 days. The Nidana (causative factors), Lakshana (signs & symptoms) etc. of the disease were observed
carefully on the basis of specially prepared research proforma to get idea about the Samprapti of the disease. Assessment of
Varnaprasadana was done on the basis of relief in the scores given to sign and symptoms of the Tvakvaivarnya according to
their severity. With Manjistha and madhu lepa 58 % improvement was found in colour , 29% improvement was found in size
and 11% improvement in number of patches over face, which was statistically significant (<0.01). The drug Manjishtha
