Echocardiogram. This case series study was conducted on 100 acute ischemic stroke to find out previous asymptomatic
cardiovascular persons with ECG and 2DECHO, to evaluate left ventricular hypertrophy. This study was conducted on 100
cases of acute ischemic stroke of either gender admitted in wards of Department of General Medicine, Kamineni Institute of
Medical Sciences, of 2 years from October 2011 to September 2013. Among 100 cases of acute ischemic stroke, 33%
patient’s ECG was normal, abnormal in 67% cases. Out of this 67% cases, T inversion was seen in 31%; LVH in 20%; ST
segment depression in 15%. Echocardiographic changes of LVSD in 23% and LVDD in 37% in patients, 20% patients had
LVH. ECG and 2DCHO changes were found on present study showing significant LVSD and LVDD and prompt treatment
will prevent overt heart failure or sudden cardiac death.
<Email>mamatakhmm@gmail.com</Email><articletype>Research</articletype><volume>5</volume><issue>6</issue><year>2015</year><keyword>Left ventricular function, ECG and 2D Echocardiography, Acute ischemic stroke</keyword><AUTHORS>Irappa Basappa Ganiger</AUTHORS><afflication>Department of General Medicine, Mamata Medical College, Khammam, Telangana, India.</afflication></Article></Articles>
