restoration. Despite over 50 years of antibiotics use, oral infectious diseases remain a major health problem, with fewer
declines in infection rates & emergence of multiple drug resistant bacteria‘s. The probiotics concept essentially entails the
introduction of specific viable microbial species in order to confer health benefits upon a host by functioning via different
mechanisms. The modulation of the microbiota for restoring and maintaining health have led to development of Probiotic
which are bacteria‘s with beneficial effects for humans and animals. Several clinical studies have proven their beneficial
effects in various oral diseases including halitosis, gingivitis, periodontitis, dental caries & oral candidiasis.
<Email>drarun922@gmail.com</Email><articletype>Review</articletype><volume>5</volume><issue>8</issue><year>2015</year><keyword>Probiotics,Microbial Species,Antibiotics</keyword><AUTHORS>Arun Kumar, Anita Hooda,Minakshi Rana,Meenakshi Bodh, Amit Dahiya</AUTHORS><afflication> Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry, Post Graduate Institute of Dental Sciences, Rohtak-124001, Haryana, India 3,Oral Anatomy,Post Graduate Institute of Dental Sciences, Rohtak-124001, Haryana, India 3,Department of Periodontology, Manav Rachna Dental College, Faridabad, Haryana, India., Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry, Post Graduate Institute of Dental Sciences, Rohtak-124001, Haryana, India 3,Department of Orthodontics, Post Graduate Institute of Dental Sciences, Rohtak-124001, Haryana, India</afflication></Article></Articles>
